One of my simple luxuries is having a soda stream. Initially, I used to carry a large seven-gallon water jug, but it proved to be too heavy for me. My car build wasn't expensive, probably costing less than $200.

As for my showering routine, I have a Planet Fitness membership, which is where I typically shower, although I sometimes opt for other facilities or even natural bodies of water. My car, a Honda Element, has served as my home for the past six years.

It's equipped with a Coleman two-burner stove for cooking, and my pantry and storage are cleverly organized within the vehicle. The tailgate area doubles as my cooking and lounging space, making the most of the compact living quarters.

I've kept my living setup simple, with zip ties holding everything in place, allowing for easy removal to revert the car to its original state if needed. Despite the small space, I find the car-living lifestyle liberating, encouraging me to spend more time outdoors.

My window shades provide privacy and stealth when needed, while a rear hatch release mod adds convenience and safety. I rely on public facilities for bathing and restroom needs, maintaining a minimalist approach to power with no elaborate electrical setup.

Financially, I've sustained this lifestyle through various means, including seasonal work at national parks and gig economy jobs like DoorDash and Instacart. While my car remains mostly stock, I've made a few practical modifications, such as a catalytic converter shield, prioritizing stealth and fuel efficiency.

For those considering a similar lifestyle, I encourage starting with what you have rather than investing heavily upfront, as it's essential to determine if this lifestyle suits you before committing to a larger setup.
