After Scrambling and Frying 40+ Eggs, This Non-Toxic, Nonstick Pan Is One of Our Favorites
It emerged from our tests scratch-free.
While we generally don’t recommend using nonstick skillets, we do our due diligence to find the best ones for frying eggs and cooking delicate crepes. For a non-toxic option, we like ceramic-coated pans, which offer nonstick properties without the health risks of forever chemicals. After testing 11 ceramic skillets, three topped our list, and the Kyocera ceramic frying pan was one of them. It’s durable, super slick, and affordable to boot. (The two other winners are priced around $100.) Now, it’s on sale for even cheaper at $60.
Eggs Slide Across Its Surface

The super slick ceramic coating ensures you can make perfect eggs of any kind, whether they’re scrambled, fried, or rolled into an omelet. During our tests, we noted that “eggs scooted around the smooth surface.” Cleaning this pan is also a breeze, thanks to the ceramic coating; any food residue washes right off with soap and warm water.
The Ceramic Coating Is Durable

When we took a metal spatula to the surface of this pan (please forgive us—we had to test it), the coating emerged without any wear. Even after repeated scrapes, the pan remained resistant to chips and scratches. It was one of only three pans to pass our durability test with flying colors.
It Cooks Evenly and Is Comfortable to Use

Crepes cooked in this pan came out without any hot or cold spots. While the taller sides require a bit more finesse with a silicone spatula, we were still able to successfully maneuver around the crepe to lift it from the pan. As one of the lighter pans we tested, the Kyocera was easy to lift in order to swirl crepe batter around. We also liked how the ergonomic handle provides a comfortable grip.
Why We Recommend It

This is the best affordable nonstick ceramic frying pan you can get your hands on. It’s durable, smooth, and comfortable to handle. “It keeps cleanup simple, releasing eggs easily with no sticking, and requires just a quick scrub with soap and water afterward.” Grab the non-toxic, nonstick skillet while it’s on sale.
