There's a world of innovative products out there designed to light up the night, but I think the Wuben is an up-and-comer worth keeping an eye on. Their latest offering, the T4 tactical flashlight, is one of the best products so far. This EDC light is remarkably compact yet brimming with cutting-edge features. Plus, it's dual fuel—both CR123 and 18350 cells work great. Let's dive in and explore all the nifty features, performance, build quality, and overall user experience of this mighty illuminator.

Every Wuben I've laid my hands on screams quality, and the T4 is no different. It's a superbly crafted tool with great attention to detail. The body is milled from 7075 aluminum alloy with military-grade hard oxidation surface treatment, and the machining fit and finish are flawless. The anodization on my copy is a beautiful FDE covering most parts of the flashlight. It comes with an IP68 dust and waterproof rating, so it can be used in all conditions.

Of course, being an EDC light, the T4 comes with a friction-fit pocket clip that attaches only to the tail end. However, Wuben also sent the AP50 tactical flashlight ring. This tactical grip is currently available for only a dollar when purchased with the T4 flashlight from their official website and is an amazing add-on. The tactical grip is equipped with a tungsten steel attack head suitable for emergency self-rescue or self-defense.

When it comes to handling, the T4 feels like it was made for my hands. It features a nice pattern on the tube, and even though the flashlight doesn't look very rough, it doesn't feel slippery at all. It entirely fits inside the hand for most adults, and at just 97 mm in length and weighing just 79 g, you'll barely notice it when you clip it to your clothing or fit it in your pocket.

The Wuben T4 is all about throwing lumens downrange from a small package. Boasting a maximum output of 850 lumens and an impressive throw distance of 400 meters, the T4 guarantees optimal illumination in any scenario. To make that happen, Wuben chose a domeless throwy LED, the Osram KW CSLPM1.TG, which some may refer to as the 2mm² white flat. This light uses a deep, smooth reflector and a clear glass lens to focus the beam. The emitting surface is rectangular, but that doesn't come out in the beam. The beam pattern is very smooth, with a well-defined hot spot and wide corona. It's cool white, which isn't my favorite, but I'll happily take it in exchange for the awesome throw.

The light utilizes a fully regulated buck driver with thermal regulation, overcurrent, and low voltage protection that provides stable output levels with no visible flickering. However, it should be noted that the flashlight will get a bit warm when operating in the brightest mode, but not uncomfortably so. The light boasts a versatile user interface, offering a range of lighting modes and intuitive controls. The tail switch is a multi-functional momentary switch covered in durable, grippy silicone that provides instant access to high when lightly pressed in tactical or duty modes. Aside from the tail switch, the T4 has a clever rotary mode selection switch too. For safety reasons, the T4 arrives in locked mode by default. Unlocking it for initial use is as simple as gently pulling up on the tail cap magnetic ring and rotating it counterclockwise.

In duty mode, there are three main settings: low, medium, and high, while the tactical mode features high and strobe modes. The battery life is solid, offering varying lumens depending on the mode you choose. In high mode, the light outputs 850 lumens for approximately 1 minute, then steps down to a steady 350 lumens and maintains this level for around 60 minutes, at which point the battery charge gradually depletes. In medium mode, the T4 emits 150 lumens for approximately 1550 minutes, and when the flashlight's on low, you'll have five lumens for 70 hours.

Provided with the Wuben T4 flashlight is a single rechargeable lithium-ion 18350 cell with a protection circuit board that boasts a capacity of 1100 mAh. However, the Wuben T4 flashlight has one big benefit—it'll also run on 3.6V CR123 cells. This is a big deal. However, what sets the T4 apart from the competition is in the charging department. The USB Type-C port cleverly hides beneath an aluminum collar positioned behind the head, revealing itself when unscrewed. The clever design effectively protects the port against water and dust, extending the flashlight's lifespan.

Overall, the Wuben T4 is a compelling option for users seeking a powerful, durable, and versatile tactical flashlight for everyday carry. With a wealth of advanced features, the hidden charging port not only maintains the flashlight's aesthetics but also contributes to its impressive waterproof rating. It features a nicely regulated driver, a simple user interface, and comes as a complete kit, including an 18350 battery. If you're looking for a compact, pocketable EDC flashlight, look no further than the Wuben T4.
