How to do ALL the things, make $8,000-$10,000/month, & thrive with multiple income streams

I usually don’t make vlogs, but today I thought I’d switch things up and share a vlog where I walk you through eight tips on how I manage to get everything done while maintaining multiple streams of income. My first tip is to focus on adding only one or two income streams at a time. When I started my business in 2018, I began by selling calligraphy greeting cards. After two months, I introduced calligraphy workshops. I eventually quit my job, but when the pandemic hit and workshops weren’t feasible, I pivoted to offering coaching services for calligraphers. Initially, I provided one-on-one coaching, then moved to group coaching. During the pandemic, I also launched this YouTube channel, my first Etsy shop, and experimented with other income streams like the Amazon Influencer Program and freelancing. Recently, I opened a second Etsy shop. While this might sound overwhelming, the key is to focus on mastering one or two income streams at a time before adding more. Over the past six years, this approach has allowed me to grow my income streams sustainably. Another easy addition, if you’re already creating content, is affiliate marketing. The trick is to get comfortable and consistent with one stream before moving on.

My second tip is to focus on a maximum of three main priorities at any given time. Right now, my focus areas are my YouTube channel, my second Etsy shop, and my new Calligraphy Poems for the Soul project. While I still engage in other ventures, such as calligraphy workshops and coaching, these are my primary priorities when planning my day, week, or month. Any additional income from other sources is just a bonus. For example, today, I’m prioritizing editing a video for next Friday, clearing my emails, and working on this vlog by organizing clips and recording voiceovers. To stay productive, I batch tasks together—like filming two videos at once, clearing emails every three days, or writing multiple outlines in one sitting. Batching tasks minimizes context switching and keeps me focused.

Prioritizing your health is my third and most important tip. As entrepreneurs, our mental and physical health are crucial. I prioritize activities like walking my dog, Cuba, and using tools like the Ultrahuman Ring Air to track my health. This smart ring has been a game-changer for monitoring my sleep, activity, and exercise metrics. It’s discreet, doesn’t require a subscription, and helps me stay consistent with my health goals. My fourth tip is to find time management techniques that work for you. I use two methods that have served me well: time blocking and the Pomodoro Technique. For time blocking, I write down my top three priorities for the day, create a loose schedule, and aim to complete about two-thirds of what I plan. The Pomodoro Technique involves 25 minutes of focused work followed by a 5-minute break, during which I do simple tasks like cleaning or stretching. This approach keeps me productive and avoids mental fatigue.

Another tip is to hire help when needed. Even as a one-person business, outsourcing tasks has been invaluable. Currently, I work with a video editor, a virtual assistant, a Canva assistant, a Photoshop expert, a bookkeeper, and a life coach. These part-time contractors help me focus on what I do best while ensuring other areas of my business run smoothly. If you’re just starting, I recommend downloading my free business resources, which include templates and checklists to guide you.

When you unplug from work and social media, truly unplug. I use the Opal app to block social media and set usage timers, which helps me stay focused and recharge effectively. Additionally, creating consistent morning and evening routines has been transformative. In the evenings, I journal in my One Line a Day diary, stretch for a few minutes, and read using the Libby library app. In the mornings, I start with exercise, meditation, and stretching to set a positive tone for the day.

I hope you found these tips helpful! Let me know in the comments if you enjoyed this vlog-style content, and I might create more in the future.

To recap, the core of my approach lies in balance, focus, and adaptability. Over the years, I’ve learned that success doesn’t come from trying to do everything at once, but from building one thing at a time, staying consistent, and evolving with the circumstances. Whether it’s starting new income streams, managing tasks, or maintaining a healthy lifestyle, everything works better when approached with intention and clarity.

If you’re considering adopting some of these strategies, start small. Pick one tip—whether it’s time blocking, batching tasks, or prioritizing your health—and commit to it for a week. Reflect on how it helps you and adjust as needed. Entrepreneurship, after all, is as much about self-awareness as it is about execution.

I also want to emphasize the importance of flexibility. Life happens—unexpected challenges like the pandemic forced me to rethink my business model and try new things. But those challenges also brought opportunities I wouldn’t have considered otherwise, like coaching, affiliate marketing, and creating digital products. Staying open to change and willing to learn new skills has been a key part of my journey.

Lastly, remember that you don’t have to do this alone. Whether it’s hiring help, joining a supportive community, or investing in resources, surrounding yourself with the right tools and people can make all the difference. As I mentioned, I’ve created some free resources to help you get started, from business plan templates to Etsy shop checklists. They’re available through the link in the description, so feel free to check them out.
