Mastering Bathroom Cleaning: A Weekly Routine That Works
A Stress-Free Way to Keep Your Bathroom Sparkling

Keeping your bathroom clean can feel overwhelming. Trust me, I’ve been there. But with a solid weekly routine and a few helpful tools, you can easily maintain a fresh and tidy space. Let me share my go-to bathroom cleaning tips that help me stay on top of this often-dreaded task.
Step 1: Assemble Your Cleaning Caddy
The key to efficient bathroom cleaning is having all your supplies in one place. I keep a cleaning caddy under my sink stocked with everything I need. This setup allows me to grab it and get to work without searching for supplies. If space is limited, consider storing your caddy elsewhere, but keep it ready to go.
Pro Tip: Keep a laminated checklist in your caddy to track your cleaning tasks. It’s waterproof and helps you stay focused on what needs to be done.
Step 2: Clean the Mirror
Always start with the highest surfaces and work your way down. For the mirror, I use a two-towel system:
Spray a glass cleaner (like Sprayway) to remove smudges and grime.
Buff the surface with a dry microfiber cloth for a streak-free shine.
This simple step leaves your mirror looking spotless and instantly brightens up the bathroom.
Step 3: Tidy the Countertop, Sink, and Vanity
Remove any items from the countertop, giving the surfaces a quick dust with a Swiffer. Then, use a general-purpose cleaner to spray down the counters and sinks. Scrub the sink with a gentle cleaning tool, like a Scrub Daddy, to remove toothpaste residue and grime.
Finally, wipe everything down with a damp microfiber towel, then dry with a clean one. Don’t forget to check the front of the vanity for splashes or smudges—a quick wipe will keep it looking polished.
Step 4: Refill Essentials
Don’t overlook the simple tasks! Refill the soap dispenser, restock toilet paper, and hang fresh towels. These small actions not only keep your bathroom functional but also make it feel fresh and inviting.
Step 5: Clean the Toilet
Toilets require regular attention to prevent bacteria buildup. I recommend cleaning it at least once a week, but you might need to do this more often depending on usage.
Regular cleaning makes deep scrubbing easier and prevents hard water stains and rings. For more detailed tips, check out my in-depth toilet cleaning guide (link in the description).
Step 6: Tackle the Shower and Tub
A weekly scrub prevents soap scum and hard water buildup, saving you hours of deep cleaning down the line. My go-to cleaners are:
DIY Vinegar Mix: 1 cup white vinegar, 1 cup water, and a teaspoon of Dawn dish soap.
Bar Keeper’s Friend Spray: For tougher grime and stains.
Spray down the surfaces, scrub lightly, and rinse. Regular maintenance keeps your shower sparkling with minimal effort. For heavy-duty cleaning, check out my shower deep-cleaning video (link in the description).
Step 7: Finish with the Floors
Vacuum the floors to remove debris, then mop with a neutral pH cleaner. Always mop your way out of the bathroom to avoid stepping on the freshly cleaned surface.
Maintain Your Bathroom with Ease
